There are many facets of expatriate life that come as a total surprise. It is easy for outsiders to get the wrong idea about expatriate life: a perception that combines romanticism and leisure, adventure and pleasure, a better life, a hope, a future. It is seen as a privileged lifestyle and envied by those who stay behind. These qualities may, in some way or another, be present in the expatriate lifestyle, but with them also come the sacrifices, discipline, energy, focus, determination, self-discipline and connectedness that enable you to keep yourself together. Hi there, We are comming on holiday in March. We will be staying near Grand Baai. I have a 9 month old baby. Is there somewhere close where I can shop for baby food? I am from south africa and normally use Purity babay food.
You can buy Purity at most of the shops in Mauritius. London Way (similar as a Spar), Winners and Super U have it. There is a Shoprite where you can buy most of the South African products.
Hello there: We are coming on a holiday in May and will be staying near Grand Bay. While we're there I'd like to shop for scrapbooking products (paper, stamps, punches) and for Miracle swimming suits. Also I have a 3 yeard old child, are there any places that you could recommend visiting other than the Casela Park and the Aquarium? Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.
Please introduce yourself – even if you use a nickname – it is just good manners to get acquainted.
Look at the general topics. When posting your message give it a good message title and give us an indication where to place it e.g. family matters, housing, etc. The key to getting responses is in how catchy your message title is.
Not all messages are going to be answered by the ExpatMauritius.com team. Your fellow expats will help you to get the correct answer.
If you post a very helpful tip we will consider pulling it into the text as a ‘post-it’ note.

I am looking for a bicycle for my son who is 6 years old. Where is the best place to look?
I think Game in Trionon may have some bikes?
Can someone tell me where to find uniforms for domestics.
Game stock them.
The shop La Ravanne which is just next to London Way, on the corner used to sell them. I don't know if they still do but there is no harm in asking.
Maids uniforms are available at the(School )Uniform shop on the vacoas road near to Candos hospital.
